Short Note
TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Introduces the GR GT3 Concept and GRMN Yaris as Concepts of Building Ever-Better Motorsports-Bred Cars.
From January 14 to January 16, TOYOTA GAZOO Racing (TGR) and Lexus showed the following vehicles and parts at Tokyo Auto Salon 2022 at Makuhari Messe (Chiba City).
GRMN Yaris
GRMN Yaris
Morizo, president of Toyota, wanted to “provide automobiles to consumers that advance swiftly and can be customized to people like in the world of motorsports,” which inspired the creation of the GRMN Yaris.
In addition to working with professional drivers to enhance the car as a fully tuned form of the GR Yaris, a new program will be launched that will provide customers with the same sort of daily vehicle evolution and driver-tailored personalization that is seen in motorsports.
GR GT3 Concept

TGR is dedicated to advancing customer motorsports operations in order to ensure the long-term viability of motorsport.
TGR has introduced the GR GT3 Concept, which promotes “driver first” car development and a commitment to deliver beautiful cars for customers engaging in GT3, the apex of customer motorsports.
TGR intends to use feedback and technologies refined through participation in various motorsports activities to develop both GT3 and mass-production cars and further promote making ever-better motorsports-bred cars by commercializing motorsports cars rather than simply trying to adapt production vehicles for use in motorsports, as was the case with the GR Yaris.

The NX PHEV Offroad Concept and the ROV Concept, two concept cars that embody the brand’s aims to achieve a carbon-neutral world. Broadening customers’ choices and lifestyles, and creating new values that exceed customers’ expectations, are also included in the display.
GR Heritage Parts Project
The GR Heritage Components Project intends to reproduce discontinued replacement parts for sale as new authentic parts in response to customers’ wish to retain their treasured and memory-rich automobiles on the road.
A variety of reproduced components for the A70 Supra, A80 Supra, Toyota 2000GT, Land Cruiser 40 series, and AE86 Corolla Levin/Sprinter Trueno were exhibit at the event in 2022.
