Elon Musk has stated that a prototype of Tesla’s Optimus robot would be shown in September.

The Tesla CEO said that the company’s AI Day would be postponed so that the billionaire could unveil the humanoid robot, which he claims might be “more significant” than the company’s electric vehicle industry.

Mr Musk wrote, “Tesla AI Day pushed to Sept 30, as we may have an Optimus prototype working by then.” “Tesla AI Day 2 will be epic.”

Last August, at Tesla’s maiden AI event, Musk teased the Optimus robot, saying it would have “profound implications for the economy.”

The 173cm (5’8″) Optimus, designed as a general-purpose robot, will be capable of exploring the world utilizing a variety of cameras, self-piloting software and sensors.

Last year, he also stated that the Optimus robot will be the most significant product developed by the world’s most valuable automaker in 2022.

“Essentially in the future, physical work will be a choice.” “If you want to do it you can, but you won’t need to do it,” he remarked during the Tesla AI Day in 2021.

“Hopefully that doesn’t ever happen, but you never know,” he added.

Elon Musk’s other firms already deploy smart robotics, such as a pair of robot canines that monitor SpaceX’s Starbase launch facility in Boca Chica, Texas.
