SpaceX President Defends Musk Against Sexual Assault Reports

Elon Musk Sexual Harassment Story

SpaceX president Gwynne Shotwell has defended Elon Musk against sexual assault accusations.

Shotwell sent an email to all firm workers stating that she believed the claims against the company’s CEO were unfounded.

According to CNBC and The Verge, the denial came in an email addressed to employees and headlined “The recent news story.”

This was written in reaction to a Business Insider report alleging that he sexually assaulted a flight attendant on his private plane in 2016.

According to the website, the business reached an out-of-court deal with Mr Musk’s accuser, which included a payment of $250,000.

Elon Musk responded on Twitter, calling the charges “utterly untrue” and made by a “liar.”

Musk also told Business Insider that the fact that he had only been accused of such a crime once made the claim less credible.

Gwynne Shotwell, SpaceX’s most senior female employee and chief operation officer, claimed she had known Elon Musk for 20 years and did not believe the accusations.

“Personally, I believe the allegations to be false; not because I work for Elon, but because I have worked closely with him for 20 years and never seen nor heard anything resembling these allegations,” she allegedly stated in the email.

“Anyone who knows Elon like I do, knows he would never conduct or condone this alleged inappropriate behaviour.

“Every accusation of harassment is taken very seriously, regardless of who is involved. For privacy reasons I will never comment on any legal matters involving employment issues.”

Elon Musk has categorically denied the allegations in the original story.

He had implied that the claim was politically driven, telling the initial reporters that there was “a lot more to this story.”

Elon Musk’s electric vehicle firm, Tesla, is also developing a massive legal department with the goal of taking on lawsuits, and he has asked fans and followers to email him if they want to work for him.
