On the second day of Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s visit to the UAE, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, welcomed him to Expo 2020 Dubai.
Erdogan Tayyip paid a visit to the world’s fair to commemorate Turkey’s national day. A parade and other festivities were held in the UAE to commemorate Turkey’s “national day” during the Expo. The president is visiting the Emirates for the first time in over a decade.
Tayyip Erdogan’s government signed agreements with the UAE on Monday in the areas of the economy, science and technology, health, and other disciplines.
One of the important agreements was a statement of intent about defense cooperation.
“I was pleased to welcome Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to the UAE today,” according to Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, Abu Dhabi’s Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.
Not forgetting, Sheikh Mohammed said collective agreements reached during his November visit to Turkey established a foundation for economic and commercial cooperation between the two nations. On that visit, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid commended Turkey for condemning Yemen’s Houthi rebels’ recent terrorist strikes on civilian grounds in the United Arab Emirates.
