During a meeting with Ukrainian President Zelensky on Friday (26 May), US Senator Lindsey Graham characterised “Russians dying” as “the best money” the US has ever spent.
In the room where it happened, Graham and Zelensky can be seen laughing that it’s “free or die” after Ukraine asked for more “long-range weapons” to support the escalating conflict.
He said in a statement issued following the meeting that he expected the Ukrainian counteroffensive to “yield results.”
‘Playing with fire’, Russia warns West
Russia’s top diplomat has warned that Western nations were “playing with fire” by agreeing to provide Ukraine with US-made F-16 fighter jets, calling it “an unacceptable escalation” of the conflict.
“It’s playing with fire, without a doubt,” Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said in an excerpt from a Russian TV interview posted on social media, denouncing an attempt to “weaken Russia” by “Washington, London and their satellites in the EU”.
