Nyankpala halts academic activities over sporadic gunshots

Gunshot

Following shootings by unidentified people in the neighborhood, academic activities have been suspended at all basic schools in Nyankpala, a settlement in the Tolon district of the Northern Region.

Gunshots erupted on a sporadic manner Thursday afternoon. The cause of the random gunfire is unknown.

However, other locals think the new chief’s assassination by the ruler of Dagbon is to blame for the gunfire.

Teachers who spoke anonymously claimed that the closure of the schools was a result of the local instability.
