She also denounced Russia’s “diabolic invasion” by President Vladimir Putin.

Moscow refers to its efforts as a “special military operation” aimed at disarming Ukraine and eradicating anti-Russian nationalism instilled by the West.

Russia, according to Ukraine and the West, has initiated an unprovoked aggressive campaign.

Zelenskyy thanked the US on Twitter, “for helping protect our state’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.”

He stated, “The US is leading strong support for Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression.”

“We’ll win and we’ll win together,” he added.

Adam Schiff, Jim McGovern, and Barbara Lee were among the members of the congressional delegation.

The visit had not been disclosed in advance.

The group traveled to southeast Poland and Warsaw, the Polish capital, to meet with President Andrzej Duda and other leaders.

Since Russia’s conflict began on February 24, Poland has taken in more than three million Ukrainian refugees.

Pelosi and other members of the delegation commended the bravery of the Ukrainian people at a press conference in Poland.

According to Schiff, US lawmakers met with Zelenskyy and his administration for three hours, discussing sanctions, weaponry, and aid assistance.

Between Ukraine and the United States, Schiff vowed, intelligence-sharing will continue.

“This is a struggle of freedom against tyranny,” Schiff said. “And in that struggle, Ukraine is on the front lines.”

McGovern claimed that Russia’s war had far-reaching ramifications beyond Ukraine, claiming that it was exacerbating a global food crisis that would be disastrous for the poor.

“Putin’s brutal war is no longer only a war against the people of Ukraine. It’s also a war against the world’s most vulnerable. I don’t think that Putin cares if he starves the world,” he added.
