The deadline for reregistering SIM cards remains July 31, according to Madam Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, minister of communications and digitalization.
Prior to this, the deadline had been moved forward from March 31 to July 31.
“More time will be required to update the SIM Registration App for the registration of diplomats, while a Self-Service SIM Registration App is also being developed to facilitate registration of SIM cards for Ghanaians resident abroad.
According to the statement made on Tuesday, March 22 by Madam Owusu-Ekuful, “This will be operational by mid-April.”
On Friday, July 22, she made a plea to everyone who hasn’t reregistered their cards to do so before the deadline, 31st of July, while speaking at a forum in Kumasi.
“I therefore take to do so before the 31st of July,” she said.
